College campuses celebrate Osama bin Laden’s death the only way they know how

Nine years, seven months and 20 days after two planes crashed into the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, Osama bin Laden is dead. And on college campuses across America, children who came of age in the shadow of the Twin Tours enthusiastically turned out well into Monday morning to celebrate a defining triumph in the conflict that defined their generation.

At Ohio State, they jumped in Mirror Lake (video not safe for work):

In West Virginia, they burned a couch:

In Missouri, they came out in force in Greek town:

At Penn State, they came out with the Stars and Stripes, Bruce Springsteen and crowd surfers in tow in Happy Valley:

At Iowa State, they broke out the flags and the U-S-A! chant at the Old Main building:

And on FOX News, of course, an emphatic "Roll Tide, y'all!" rang out:

The terrorist threat has not passed, but for America ? and specifically for a generation that grew up with bin Laden as the ultimate bogeyman at large ? it is the end of an era in the nation's history.
