Annie Thorisdottir might be a long way from Iceland, but she doesn’t look out of place at Mike’s Gym in Bonsall, Calif.
The second-place finisher in the 2010 CrossFit Games is in SoCal to work out with Coach Mike Burgener—and his ever-present dogs. Thorisdottir is an outstanding athlete, so Coach Burgener is only looking to fine-tune her technique on the Olympic lifts.
First, it’s all about nailing foot position with light weight, and then it’s on fixing the starting position. By making the basics absolutely perfect, Burgener is confident that he’ll set Thorisdottir up for success.
Iceland Annie, of course, is training hard to eliminate all weaknesses before the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games, where she hopes to wrest the overall title from Kristan Clever.
