Pose Method: Concept Model Method

Pose Method creator Dr. Nicholas Romanov sits down with Sevan Matossian to discuss the model, method and concept of Pose.

According to Romanov, a concept is “the set of ideas” to define what it’s all about. Models drawn from the concept tell us how to do something and define a standard. The method is “the way of teaching” the concept and its models.

“This is like different layers of the same thing, you know? It’s altogether called Pose,” Romanov says.

For the longest time, running was taught without a concept or a model. There were too many styles without any cohesion. Romanov developed Pose to utilize the only constant: gravity.

“Gravity is a frame of living,” he says, and from it we can define body-weight positions, or poses, for movement.

“It’s not enough to have just the pure, raw talent, you know? We have to work through this and make a diamond ... . And this is what Pose method does,” Romanov says.
