Snowstorm has travel plans changing, UGA's Mark Fox tweeting

A massive snowstorm began pummeling a major chunk of the United States on Tuesday afternoon, and it's thrown a wrench into a generous portion of the mid-week college hoops schedule.

It's a short slate on Tuesday night, and so far, only the Baylor-Oklahoma game in Norman has been postponed. The two teams will meet on Wednesday at 2 p.m. local time, instead, with free admission being offered to fans.

Tuesday's re-match between Illinois and Penn State almost fell victim to Mother Nature, too, but the Nittany Lions finally reached Champaign, Ill. They were supposed to land in town on Monday evening, but instead had to circle for a while, then touch down in Evansville, Indiana. The team stayed there overnight, then enjoyed a five-hour bus ride into Champaign on Tuesday afternoon.

Several visiting teams playing on Tuesday might have to stay put an extra day. Getting the worst of it right now appears to be those scheduled to travel out of town for Wednesday games.

One coach who took frustrations to Twitter was Georgia's Mark Fox.

The Bulldogs already had enough to worry about while heading to Arkansas for their game against the Razorbacks. They've lost four of their last six games after a nine-game win streak, and at 3-4 in the SEC, need to get back on track soon in hopes of solidifying their NCAA tourney at-large status.

Adding a little wrinkle to their preparation was figuring out how to actually get to Fayetteville. The issue was resolved late in the afternoon.

Fox, one of college basketball's more entertaining and outspoken tweeters, explains/jokes …
