CrossFit Radio Episode 159

On Episode 159 of CrossFit Radio, host Justin Judkins interviewed Cynergy CrossFit co-owner Keith Brown and masters contender Susan Habbe from Montana. This episode was webcast live at 6 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011.

2:30 Keith Brown owns Cynergy CrossFit with his wife Cindy, and he came on the show to detail the on-ramp program they have in place and how it’s helped client retention. He also talked about training future Games competitors and why he encourages his athletes to compete. He also described how he balances owning an affiliate, holding down another full-time job and fitting in family time.

30:10 Montana athlete Susan Habbe, 49, came on the show to talk about her potential road to the Games. She told the story of how she found CrossFit and was hooked ever since she was introduced to Kelly Jo Smith two years ago. Susan talked about her desire to compete as part of CrossFit Montana’s Affiliate Cup team rather than as an individual master’s athlete. She also detailed her training and nutrition and the lessons learned as an older athlete hitting the box every day. She says it’s very important for a masters athlete to get proper rest and recovery.
